Holding onto me

 Fire lit my eyes
blinding, to the comfort in my arms
awaiting the break of dawn
I was pale in the
moons white glow
My back crooked
supporting the weight of unmet dreams
I hunched over, Still pretty
I lived with a fever
Unexplained
Longing to be healed
with parts I lost
sometime ago
when the smell of you
was all over me
In blankets n'
bed shirts I was keeping
 close

Never far
Never failing
Like the beam of your
headlights
arriving
 or leaving
Without good bye
I called
your name
my tongue
 twisted
In  the shape
of your heart
saying
No path for the future
No blame for that past
Hold me close now
Tighten the grasp
I've lost On things that never last
